Kathryn Allison - IPR Communications

I'm founder of IPR Communications - a specialist PR, Media Relations and Communications Strategy business. At IPR, I stands for Impact, P for Promotion and R for Reputation - three essential pillars that I carefully cultivate for my clients, ensuring their business thrives.

PR starts with the business owner. It's about uncovering the unique, authentic story, refining how it's communicated and making sure your brand gets noticed. After all, you can only sell your business if people know about you.

Beyond the strategy and the submission of media content, I run Masterclasses designed to empower business owners: Masterclass 1 helps you craft your authentic story while aligning your internal communications. A crucial step. Masterclass 2 focuses on the when, where and how to effectively reach out through the media.

I'm looking to collaborate with likeminded businesses eager to elevate their brand presence. My expertise likes in PR and media strategies for the food, drink, heritage and lifestyle sectors. At IPR, my goal is simple: to create impact, deliver promotion with precision and build recognition so that my clients feel confident in their business reputation. PR isn't about telling everything - It's about empowering you to tell your own story in the right way to catch those headlines.

Outside of Work

I enjoy tennis and golf, both for the challenge and the fresh air, and I thrive on socialising—whether it’s hosting, chatting, or simply connecting with new faces. My love of social history runs deep, and I’m proud to serve on the committee of the Friends of Corinium Museum ans as a Friend of Northleach Churc, preserving the fabric of the building and where I get to support heritage and community in meaningful ways.

Travelling feeds my adventurous spirit, while reading historical books allows me to journey through time without leaving my cosy corner. Every hobby I pursue fuels my curiosity and joy for life—whether I’m planning a wine-tasting experience or discovering new corners of Gloucestershire. PS Mother of twin boys, keeps me on my toes too!

When I’m not immersed in the world of communications at IPR, I’m usually somewhere between the vineyards, the tennis court, and the theatre aisle—preferably with a dog by my side and a good historical book in hand.

Wine tasting is a favourite pastime of mine (I always include non-alcoholic too), and I love curating events that bring people together over flavour, laughter, and discovery. I spend many happy hours walking through the Cotswolds with my dog—it's where my love of nature, history, and geography beautifully collide. Pilates, the gym, and gardening help keep me energised, and when it’s time to unwind, I’m either dining out, catching a play, or dancing!

Testimonials

  • Working with Kathryn has been nothing short of transformational. When we first met in March 2024 at a networking event and I attended her Masterclass, I quickly realised the depth of insight and strategy that great PR and communications require. From defining our mission, vision and values to introducing us to a talented packaging designer, Kathryn has been instrumental in every stage of our brand's evolution. She has guided us through press planning, PR requests and award entries-where we've celebrated multiple wins! Her support has been invaluable, particularly as we have navigated major investments, expanded our team and stepped onto industry stages at the Farm Shop & Deli Show and the Food Speciality Show at Excel. Thanks to her expertise, we've secured listings, doubled our range and now signed a landmark deal with one of the UK's leading wholesalers. Even in moments of crisis, Kathryn has been our trusted advisor, helping us handle communications with confidence. The media coverage we've gained, both in trade and consumer spaces - has elevated our presence and reinforced our reputation. Now, as we embark on another exciting phase, investing in further machinery and expanding our kitchen, I can't help reflect on how far we've come in just over a year or so. I truly could not have done this without Kathryn's unwavering support, guidance and wisdom. She is just not a PR professional, she is a voice of reason, a trusted strategist and a committed force behind our success. Thank you Kathryn, for everything.

    Clara, The Cotswold Cardillo
